Specialized PCOS and endometriosis care at KIMS Fertility Centre

PCOS and Endometriosis

PCOS and Endometriosis affect many women in their reproductive years and are leading causes of fertility issues, painful periods, and hormonal imbalances. PCOS causes irregular ovulation due to hormonal disturbances, while Endometriosis results in tissue similar to the uterus lining growing outside the uterus, causing inflammation and pain. At our clinic, a trusted destination for PCOS treatment, we combine medical insight with empathy to deliver effective care. Whether you’re planning to conceive or seeking relief from chronic symptoms, our approach is tailored to your needs.

  • Dietary Support: A low-inflammatory diet may help manage symptoms.

Treatment Process

Your treatment plan begins with a thorough evaluation consisting of Ultrasound scans, blood tests, and menstrual history analysis, respectively.

  • PCOS: We may start with ovulation-inducing medications, lifestyle modifications, and insulin-sensitising drugs.
  • Endometriosis: Hormonal therapies or laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive) are offered depending on the stage of the condition.

Our doctors will guide you with compassion and clarity - customising treatment based on your body’s response and your family planning goals.

General Success Rate

  • PCOS with ovulation induction and timed intercourse or IUI: up to 60–70% over 3–6 cycles
  • Endometriosis with appropriate treatment (medical or surgical) and ART: up to 40–50% within a year, depending on severity and age Results are significantly improved with early intervention and personalised care.

Treatments

Our fertility specialist will begin treatment on the 2nd day of your menstrual cycle. You will then need to take induction medications/injections for 1-2 weeks. Regular ultrasounds are taken at this time to track your cycle accurately. You will then be asked to have intercourse on specific days - just before and during the ovulation period, so there is a higher chance of the sperm fertilising the released egg and forming an embryo. Don’t get too stressed if it does not happen in one round. Stay positive, so there is less stress and try again next month! A general rule of thumb is to wait for 2-5 months, before trying other treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get pregnant if I have PCOS or Endometriosis?
×
Yes, many women with PCOS or Endometriosis successfully conceive with the right treatment and guidance. Early diagnosis and timely management make a huge difference in improving fertility.
How are PCOS and Endometriosis diagnosed?
+
PCOS is diagnosed using blood hormone levels, physical symptoms, and ultrasound. Endometriosis may require imaging or a laparoscopy (a minor surgical procedure) for a confirmed diagnosis.
What are the treatment options for PCOS and Endometriosis?
+
PCOS treatment includes lifestyle changes, ovulation-inducing medication, and insulin regulation. Endometriosis may be managed with hormonal therapy or minimally invasive surgery to remove growths and reduce pain.
Do these conditions go away after treatment?
+
These are long-term conditions but can be managed very effectively. With proper care, symptoms can be controlled, and fertility outcomes significantly improved.
Can I avoid surgery for Endometriosis?
+
In mild to moderate cases, hormonal therapy may be enough to manage symptoms. Surgery is usually recommended for severe pain or when fertility is affected and other treatments haven’t helped.
How does diet affect PCOS and Endometriosis?
+
Diet plays a key role in managing both conditions. For PCOS, low-glycaemic foods can help regulate insulin and hormone levels. For Endometriosis, an anti-inflammatory diet rich in fruits, vegetables and omega-3 fats may reduce pain and improve overall wellbeing. Our team can help you plan supportive nutrition as part of your treatment.
Is weight gain linked to PCOS?
+
Yes, weight gain and difficulty losing weight are common symptoms of PCOS due to insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance. Even a small reduction in weight can help regulate cycles, improve ovulation, and increase your chances of conception.
Can I undergo IVF if I have Endometriosis or PCOS?
+
Absolutely. Many women with these conditions benefit from IVF, especially if natural methods or IUI have not worked. Our fertility specialists will customise your protocol to optimise egg quality, embryo development and implantation success, based on your specific condition.
